Cassowary Calendar 2010
Finally after a long wait, Mr Cassowary appeared with this year's hatchlings. There are three in all. Last year there were four but it ended in a disaster when they must have met with a catastrophe because within a week they were gone. A dog may have been the culprit.

Excellent. I wanted to see Cassowaries, but didn't. Very cool that you have them around - hope they don't impact your inverts too much!
ReplyDeleteThanks folks. We are most worried about local dogs. They are supposed to be on leashes but this is often not the case.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise the Cassowaries are placid and stay for a few minutes and then are off. With the unusual amount of rain this year, there is plenty for them to eat. Seems every trees is flowering or in fruit.
